I am Sheryl, a Canadian person immigrated to the U.S. for love, recently celebrating our first wedding anniversary with my husband Daniel.

I crochet with wooden and metal hooks and my fingers. I draw with india ink and nib pens. I pour sweet microfoam into crema, sometimes cocoa. I strum the pei pa. I hope I can be the messenger of something beautiful for you.

I want to go to America's Burning Man festival, and Thailand's full moon parties, and Belgium's discos, and Iceland's Christmas parties, and especially Japan's doll and phallus and flower and drum festivals and Big Kite Flying Day and Bird Week!

My favourite day is Wednesday.

My favourite scent is LUSH's honey perfume.

My favourite flowers are the passionflower and the hydrangea. My favourite birthday gift so far was a passionflower vine.

I passionately but pickily collect vintage lingerie and wear it as regular clothing, particularly silk camisoles. Nothing is better to wear than silk!

My favourite animal is the bird, for the liberty it represents. If I could be any animal I would be a male Papua New Guinean bird of paradise. My favourite domestic pet is the cat and I have lived with them all my life until now. To cope I have immortalised them on youtube! My favourite breed of cat is the maine coon, which my mother and I have always wanted and will someday each have.

I think the imagination is one of the most important and powerful tools we have. It is a critical vessel into our adult lives of the curiosity and hope of childhood. I spend much of my time in mine, and in my hammocks in the ones of such authors as Janet Fitch, Tom Robbins, Amy Tan, Pearl S. Buck, Jonathan Safran Foer, Neil Gaiman, David Mack, Terry Goodkind, and Rumi. And, I have a weakness for shojo manga (love hina, sailor moon, ayashi no ceres) and the Harry Potter series.

I have an ear for musicians such as Beck, Bjork, Huun Huur Tu, Joanna Newsom, KMFDM, The Knife, Morphine, Sigur Ros, Stuart Davis, Tom Waits, Tori Amos, and who can forget my husband.

I have no t.v. but wide eyes at all hours for Babylon 5 on DVD and I ruthlessly sail the Doctor/Garibaldi ship.

I cannot paint.

I can tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue.
